House Bill 2014 is designed to position West Virginia as a prime location for data centers and Bitcoin mining operations by enabling the development of self-sufficient microgrids powered by various energy sources, including fossil fuels. 

The West Virginia House of Delegates recently passed House Bill 2014, known as the Power Generation and Consumption Act, with an 88-12 vote. This legislation aims to attract data centers and promote the development of microgrids within the state. The bill now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
